![]() The decoration making was a piece of wood with felt pens and some dried up paint if you could find some. (keep in mind, your local mall has a better train ride) There were a few 5 minute shows that you had to race to fit in and find at the right time slot. We never got to ride the train as the line was always to long. Regarding the event, it was sloppy, disorganized, and underwhelming. We paid full price for the tickets (Memory Maker Pass $49.95 x 2) 4 adult tickets ($20 each) I learned after booking well in advance that Groupon started offering 50% off tickets after I had already paid full price for ours. 2 adults, 2 x 7 yr olds and 2 grandparents. We went on a Saturday evening in December. I was very disappointed with Peppermint Park at the Anatole. The Anatole had about 10 tacky conventions. The Gaylord is decorated so beautifully, with lights and fabulous picture opportunities. The Gaylord makes the Anatole look like amateur hour. We had tickets to the drop in gingerbread decorating and tickets to Cookies with Mrs Clause in a dedicated time slot. We went to the Gaylord Texas on the Thursday early evening after school a couple of days before. We had so much other stuff planned that we missed a lot of the activities but it was still fun staying at such a Christmasy hotel.I was very disappointed with Peppermint Park at the Anatole. If you want to do all of it, I would recommend planning a trip and just doing the activities at the hotel. The Hilton Anatole has so much to do for Christmas. I even took a picture of the sign so that I could check the show times but I forgot about it until our last day when we were checking out. The show was supposed to be Winter Wonderland. That was the puppet show put on by Geppetto’s Marionette Theater. There was one other activity that I wanted to do but we never got around to doing. This is another thing that we didn’t do, but we saw the setup and really liked it. The Anatole also has Breakfast with Santa. If you’re looking for Christmas themed food we did find some Christmasy desserts. There were also blankets and pillows available. The movie that was showing was The Polar Express and the hotel provided popcorn and lemonade. The movie night was nice there were not many families there when we went. After the boys took their picture with Santa we went to go get something to eat and then the boys wanted to go to the movie night. I would have taken more pictures but I figured we were going to go back and we never were able to. Peppermint Park was open from 5pm-9pm and there were games to play, shows, and a train ride. We did go outside to check it out and the boys took a picture with Santa but that was all we were able to do at that time. We spent 3 nights at the hotel and were hoping to do Peppermint Park the first night but we didn’t have time. Peppermint Park is one of those offerings. There are also several Christmas activities available as well. The Anatole isn’t just decorated for Christmas. This is a mini train display but it wasn’t running when we were looking at it. Even some of the art gets a Christmas touch! During Christmas you’ll also find holiday decorations and several Christmas trees throughout the hotel. The property is large, beautiful, and filled with art. The Hilton Anatole is one of my favorite hotels and just happens to be one of the best hotels for a Christmas vacation.
